visited the high barn last night to see  Anna Leddra-Chapman and megson- awesome! great acoustics, top venue, multi media facilities, (i noted the filming going on last night). Would recommend getting a very good map though- its easy to get lost in the dark depths of north essex- but well worth the effort!    Sam

Large, beautiful barn (unsuprisinigly)with proper full size theatre stage including grand piano, full lighting rig, great sound system. Audience (about 120 seated on big round, candlelit tables or 250 with tables taken out) are often regulars who come for either the unplugged nights (Thursdays - mostly acts of high standard, vaguely local to Essex - probably becasue venue is in cut off rural area) or 'name' acts - Sam Brown, Chris Difford, Ralph MacTell, Nick Harper (& Moses of course!)for which you can sometimes get the supports if you've played at one of the unplugged nights. so... Beautiful venue, great sound, great stage, attentive audience - But in the middle of nowhere, definitely not accessable without a car.
