Went to this a couple of weeks ago and had a wicked night. Really friendly vibe from the players and the staff. Nice mix of styles as well. And the beer is good. Will be popping down tonight for some bank holiday boozing! whoop whoop!

Tragic open mic night where performers traipse on, mumble a bit, sometimes sing in tune, sometimes not, sometimes tune their instruments, sometimes not and shuffle off again, heads held low. Not recommended.

This is one of the best open mics I've been to: lovely pub, well organised and well attended with an appreciative audience. Dave is very welcoming, happy hooking you up to the PA directly or miking you up if you want a more natural acoustic sound. A house guitar is on offer, and there's an upright piano in the corner which I gather is a new addition and assume is there for only one reason! The styles vary, it is largely acoustic, sometimes with acappella performances. The standard is high with some well experienced players performing, but there is a very laid back attitude, it is an open mic afterall and intended for anyone who wants to get up there and give it a bash. Well worth the visit for novice or experience performers wanting a nice relaxing end to the week.

Really great gig! took my girlfriend down for her first songwriters night. Perfect had everything. Helpful, nice pa, good lighting, relaxed, london pride! what more could you want.

Nice venue, great staff and well organised night. Sound was decent, talent varied in genre as always, yet high in standards. Good way to end the week, have been invited back but there was no need I would have returned regardless. Take Care

The best open mic in London , period . Catfish, Albino , Big Al , The Blue Vegas and myself ; we've all played here and we keep comin' back for more. Whether you're long, tall, short or skinny come on down and do your Low Yo Yo stuff .

your best bet to get a gig is to go along on a sunday for the open mic. it's a great night out and the organisers invite those whom they like to play a longer set on a saturday.

Played The Stage Door last night and thoroughly enjoyed it - Dave and Natalie made us feel very welcome, sound was spot-on, laidback atmosphere - would definitely recommend. Hope to be back there soon.

last night was the 3rd time shiseido red have played a set at the stage door and we very n=much look forward to playing there again. it is a warm and friendly pub, with a great atmosphere and people really seem to be there to listen to the music which is great. the staff are great and really accomodating and it's a good opportunity to meet other musicians working the acoustic circuit. a must for any acoustic music lovers/performers

Door Jam goes from strength to strength and the pub has recently been refurbished giving it a fantastic laid back feel for live music. The quality of performances is superb and musoes often collaborate there and then! All in all the finest, friendliest Jam venue in town.

I try and play at the Stage Door whenever I can since I started going.  It's a great atmosphere, full of people who just want to listen to the music, which makes a change.  Always features great musicians.  Highly recommended.

Played at The Stage Door a few times - definitely the best open mic in London (Well I've only been to about 3 but it's definitely the best of those). Great sounding PA and a really relaxed atmosphere where everyone's welcome.

I play every sunday at the Stage Door. The PAs great, Dave the landlords sound and its full of australians (i'm not sure why this is). Without doubt the best open-mic night going. keep it up.

A regular at The Stage Door's open mic since the beginning, I have witnessed it go from strength to strength. Dave the landlord, himself a fine musician and songwriter, understands how to make the performers feel welcome. Sympathetic lighting provides a cool atmosphere and some good photo opportunities. The Mackie PA is the best I have heard at an open mic. There is a fairly high standard of performer, but everybody who gets up to play is made to feel welcome. Even if you don't play, come along to listen. You wont get a better gig (FOR FREE!) on a Sunday night.

The Stage Door has a quality, quality sound system. To all of you out there that has ever struggled with sound i.e. absent monitors and feedback fury - you MUST play at Dave's bar. It really was a pleasure to play at this venue.

I attend the jam night at The Stage Door on a regular basis and every week i'm amazed by the talent.  The atmosphere is very relaxed and there is a wide variation in the styles music played.  I would definately recommend checking it out.
