Love it. A mixture of quirks and quality; quips and quacks ... since the smoking ban (despite not being a smoker myself, and loving the fact you can sign without gulping mouthfulls of it) the atmosphere has tuned down a bit :o( But worth a visit, and you should join in too (there isn't anything that CAN'T be done .. apart from pissing in the corner - that's been done, and they got removed from the venue)
Lorraine (obviously) - Aug 07
This place is wicked, definately one to go out your way for. Great quirky, bohemian atmosphere with a diversity of people and that pissed guy who always closes the night with random jokes that make no sense whatsoever. Fantastic!
Emma - Feb 07
Bohemian Night is now on a Thursday.
George Owens - Nov 03
Yes, it's still going. The listings haven't been updated for a while but the night is definitely still on.
Graf - Oct 02
Is this bohemian night still going?
Ali Matheson - Sep 02
This is a mixture of solo performers, who usually play 2 songs each, poets and comedians (who may shock, make you fall asleep, make tears of laughter roll down your face, or all three!!)
The host Rob usually starts the evening with a couple of songs. He also sits at the mixing desk (when he's not standing at the bar!!). He can't be missed - very tall and slim with very long hair. You just go up to him and ask to play.
The poetry is kicked off by a sexy red head called Ashley (the other host). His poem are usually pretty funny (and never pretentious!!). He is willing and able to have the piss taken out of him.
If you want to sing you're free to do covers or originals. There is always a good atmosphere here and as it's right in the heart of Reading loads of young Bohemian types rolling in off the street to watch you play!!
Stephen Priest - Apr 01
