From the minute you walk in the door of the coffee shop, you feel welcome. Smiley happy staff show you the way to the basement, where you are made to feel even more comfortable by Bernard and his team. It's a teeny tiny cellar room, but the Cambridge crowd squeeze in there till you could hardly slide a rizla between them. The audience are there to listen and appreciate your music, and by God I felt appreciated. Quite simply, gig heaven. The only downside from the point of view of a Londoner, is that the last train leaves at 11.10pm, so it's a bit of a mad rush to get back to the station. I also received a wadge of cash to cover my expenses, to round off a truly delightful evening.
